Homemade granola is healthy, delicious, and easy to whip up during the holiday bustle. Store brands have unnecessary fillers and preservatives with non-organic sugars. Not only is granola a great alternative to cookies, any variation of nuts, grains, or seeds can be added to the mix.  Serve as a snack, cereal, or topping for yogurt.   The biggest bonus...making the kitchen smell heavenly without much effort.

2  teaspoon of cinnamon

2  teaspoon of nutmeg

1  teaspoon sea salt

2/3  Cup organic honey

1/2  Cup melted coconut oil

2  Tablespoon vanilla

4  Cups old fashioned rolled oats

1  Cup coconut

1/2   Cup toasted wheat germs

1  Cup finely chopped nuts

1/2   Cup sesame seeds

1/2   Cup sunflower seed

Mix together all dry ingredients in a large bowl. Mix together honey, oil and vanilla and pour over dry mixture.  Pour into greased large baking tray or roaster pan.  Bake 325 for 30 minutes or until lightly brown.  Stir frequently- Cool and crumble.  Add assorted dried fruits such as raisins, red cranberries, cherries or green pumpkin seeds. Add a sprig of holly for a bowl full of jolly!

Eat well and stay healthy this holiday,
