Black walnuts are beneficial to our diets in many ways. They contain lots of protein and have essential fatty acids that help in regulating heart function, protecting against heart disease, facilitating insulin, stabilizing mood swings, and helping depression. Since the body is unable to produce essential fatty acids, our diets should include foods high in omega 3s.
Walnuts are optional toppings for many sugared desserts, cakes, and pies which only add to the highs and lows of depression. Here is Dr. Nedley's Brain Bar Recipe designed to fight depression and feed the brain. It's a healthy and delicious alternative to sugary holiday snacks.
