Every season yields abundant material for pressing. A few pages of pressed leaves and flowers provides hours of winter flower designing while the garden is resting under the snow. I couldn't resist collecting a few leaves on my walk today. The fall colors of young leaflets caught my eye. After years of collecting flowers and leaves, I made a little discovery: Summer is the perfect time for pressing autumn foliage; because these tiny leaves are perfect without any holes or damage from insects that is usually apparent in fall foliage. Pressing leaves is also a wonderful excuse to escape to the woods for a peaceful afternoon in nature.
