I finished a collage of pressed-flower frames last weekend just in time for my bedroom makeover and before the outdoor chores consume my weekly to-do list. A single pressed flower brings nature to any home in the most simple and delicate way.
I prefer old frames found at flea markets and thrift shops as to new ones. These frames (pictured) had the ugliest prints in them...it was easy to overlook their potential. I like to keep a variety of frames on hand for pressed flowers...they always come in handy when a house spruce-up is needed.
These warm spring days are great for getting outside, taking a walk, and pressing a few blooms for projects. Once you start pressing flowers, you'll never stop...especially when they can transform the drab into elegant.
