Since last week's post was about teasel, I wanted to show you this outdoor urn filled with teasel that I had made last spring.  It is composed of wheat, rye, and pennycress (which are perfect for bird feeding this time of year). Teasel is an excellent filler plant/weed for winter containers.  The strong stems withstand the brutal winds and the birds love feasting on this arrangement without destroying its design. I left some soil in the container (from last summer's flowers) to add weight and secure the stems.

Fun and simple idea for this time of year!
