LATE AUTUMN FLOWERS

Though the flower garden is fading, a wealth of materials for inventive arrangements remains  along the fencerow and roadsides.   Wild flower bouquets of goldenrod, white and purple asters, and grasses bring  autumn  indoors to be relished to the fullest.

This antique tea kettle compliments the carefree blooms. Resourcefulness in choosing a container for the arrangement is part of the creative fun. The wide opening of the kettle permits the plants to drape freely over the sides with a natural appeal similar to the way they grow in the wild.

"Arranging a bowl of flowers in the morning can give a sense of quiet in a crowded day -like writing a poem,  or saying a prayer."
